FILM IS DEAD !

Ok, it might be four in the morning but I am wide awake. The startling painful truth that film is dead, well and truly dead is too much for me to be anything but awake right now. I want a vintage film projector and some old films that are still are on film so that I can fulfil a promise to a friend that we can just chill in the summer watch a film on projector in deck chairs in the great out doors. And witness something that restores the hope, innocence and joy within us till the credits roll and the world takes it again, violently and ruthlessly. Its impossible to find any trace of old films on projector film yes I can get the projector no problem due to the rise of the hipster. Every time I search all that comes up is advice for the ultimate 3D projector sound system combo for the meat heads of the world to watch fucking Fast and Furious 15 on and have a wank during. No such thing as silver screen anymore and the journey it took you on, just green the colour of money and the question of how quick can you sell yourself. As you know by now I’m a dreamer and in this modern grey, glass, concrete world. Dreams of something pure, warm and real very rarely come true….

“But I must admit I miss you quite terribly. The world is too quiet without you nearby. I go to bed early and rise late and feel as if I have hardly slept.”

Lemony Snicket, The Beatrice Letters (via acynicalcunt)
“I’m lonely. And I’m lonely in some horribly deep way and for a flash of an instant, I can see just how lonely, and how deep this feeling runs. And it scares the shit out of me to be this lonely because it seems catastrophic.”

Augusten Burroughs, Dry (via kerryquotesquotes)
